How will this run?

Hey!

I've only attempted N64 emulation once, on a not-so-good computer and as expected it did not go so well o_O. Here's the question though: I'm on a gaming laptop. Here's it's specs:

OS: XP
Manufacturer: Dell
System: Inspiron XPS
Processor:
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 512MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700

I think that should be enough... anyways, this computer plays PSX flawlessly with perfect graphics, sound, and speed. How do you all think N64 emulation will go on it?

Should work without problems - CPU is plenty good enough, as are the graphics (unless the Mobility Radeon 9700 has some flaws I am not aware of).

Well I just tried it out, Ocarina of Time was flawless, and Yoshi's Story had horrible graphic bugs, but I'm not worried about that because a quick search will reveal that many people get this. Thanks for the quick response :).

Yeah I think Yoshi is listed in the GameFAQ, and there are a post or two on here about possibly being able to fix the errors. Setting the game resolution was a method maybe? Try setting it in jabo's plugin to 319x239 as found here http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?p=273415 post #26 (or alternately, try getting the latest RDB from http://www.pj64.net/main/download/func,select/id,7/ ) Switching video plugins may also help. http://www.pj64.net/main/component/.../Itemid,89/task,category/sectionid,14/id,104/
