How well does Zelda OOT run on Project64?

First of I'd like to say that Project 64 is great.
I appreciate all the work the creators put in it and I'm very happy with it.
I played Mario 64 again since years on it a few weeks ago with an xbox360 controller and it all works perfect, I had no problems what so ever.
Now I'm thinking of playing OOT again after so many years but I'd like to know how well it runs on Project 64. Mario 64 ran pretty much even better then on the Nintendo 64 in my oppinion, 60 FPS.
I'm wondering if Zelda OOT also runs 100% great like Mario 64 does. No graphical problems at all?
I also have it on the collector edition for the Gamecube but if it works perfect on Project 64 I'd rather play it on Project 64.

Oh and what about Majora's Mask? Since that needed the Nintendo 64 expansion pack does that also run perfectly?

Cheers.

They do, providing you use the correct graphics plugin and have the correct hardware. If uncertain, check out bighead's list.

Oops. Died again.
Sometimes you might notice a little slowdown in the more graphically intense parts of both games. But not enough to really ruin the fun.

Rice Video is the only plugin i know to render the actual game properly.... but jabo's renders the link image in the item menu the best....

Using Glide64 Wonder Plus Plus and the glide wrapper that comes with it gives you 100% PERFECT emulation (yes, even with the Start Menu Sub-Screens). You also always have perfect 30FPS all the time as well (except in the temple of Time because that's supposed to be 20FPS :p).

No, it doesn't.

Glide64 also suffers the dirt overlap bug in Zelda64

what i refer to, is when you stand on certail hills, links feet actually appear to be under a thin layer of fog... which is actually the dirt path.... this does not occur on Rice Video.

also
Legend of Zelda DOES NOT run at 30fps

the NTSC version only runs at 20, where the Pal version only runs at 17.

saying otherwise is false information.

Maybe you have a point, squall. Maybe, Glide64 is the cause of this "dirt-overlapping" issue. Might be your video card, might just be the plugin configuration, the version you have, the wrapper may need to be changed, your drivers, whatever, but even if it truly is a fault of the plugin, and Rice's Video Plugin fixes it, it isn't worth using Rice's. With Glide64, you get the following that Rice's doesn't:
  1. Hardware frame buffer emulation
  2. Proper emulation of the pause screen and motion blur
  3. Flame coronas when used on Mupen64
Now, I'd say, all of this is worth the minor dirt-overlapping.

As for how well it runs on Project64, in terms of core emulation, I'd say 1964 can do faster and just as well and Mupen64 can cooperate with Glide64 better. :p Really, though, someday you'll all learn, the emulator is overrated.

I'm thinking that the "dirt-overlapping" issue is actually native to the game, dudes. The dirt paths are a totally separate texture that is placed above the ground on a separate plane. This problem is apparent playing it on the N64 - the dirt, for example, disappears if the camera is at a steep angle looking up.

As for Glide vs Rice, Glide emulates the graphics better, but Rice has a lot of awesome tools that can make the game look sharper/better, and it is the only publicly released plugin that can load a different texture set than that of the game's native textures.
