What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

How exactly do I get textures ingame?

I have the newest Rice Plugin and Project64 version 1.6.

I am trying to retexture games. I checked "Dump texture files" and I changed some and saved them as ".png" and pasted them in a map with the same name as the one in texture_dump, in hires_texture. But in game I don't see anything. So what should I do?

I don't have Rice's plugin installed at the moment, but IIRC you also have to check a box in the configuration to load textures from the hires directory. Make sure that's checked.

Also assure that your PNG file contains just one layer & that this layer is not a background layer. It has to be one normal ArtLayer.

PNG files can't have layers. :whistling

Anyways your PNG files will need to be in 32-bit format (yours are most likely in 24-bit). So for each image just make one pixel have a 99% opacity and save. Do this for each image as I said.

True...

Nevertheless, somehow the texture will not load if the texture has contained a background layer before saving it in Photoshop. This might be a reason for his problems. Thus the texture has to be a normal layer and the background layer has to be removed if any.
