How do you set up the memory cards?

With Berserk and Gundam Side Story I get an error at the beggining of the game.

With berserk it says: memory card is not initilized, you will not be able to save.

And Gundam says basically the same thing in jap.

I have memory cards set up in my config where you select the cdrom plugin and the controller plugin.

Help, as always, is apreciated.

err, never mind I needed to format the memory card... im retarded
