I'm sorry to be "Caps" but everywhere i've looked i havent found a single N64 'how to play a game' guide!! For this and project 64. How am i then, the new user, supposed to even play the games??? It doesnt make any sense and when i tried starting super smash bros and wwf no mercy it would just load and unload.. and theres like 500 settings for all games with non of them being explained.. please someone find a freakin answer for me because of the lack of resources.

And there is a readme file included with 1964/PJ64! Just read that which answers all the basics, and pretty much all of the advanced too.

That 128mb ram probably won't be enough to play the game at good speed, and do you have a video card or onboard video.

More details required.

1. What game are you trying to play? Some games don't work, or require specific settings.
2. What plugins have you used.
3. What is your graphics card? (Start > Run, type 'dxdiag' without quotes, go to display tab.) This will tell us if your graphics meet PJ64's minimum requiremnets or not.
4. Is it the same with other emulators? (1964 or Mupen64?)
5. Is your computer fully up to date with drivers and DirectX?
6. Is your computer generally working well and other games/emulators work fine?
7. Is the rom you tried fully extracted and verified by GoodN64?

It's not good enough to say "It doesn't work" as we can't tell what is causing it from such little info.

by the way, why some games shows "bad dump" in my rom list? they work well and did never gave me trouble. and thanx for the emu developers- i think we n64 fans (and other consoles, like dreamcast!) are very happy with the constant evolution ^_^ :bouncy:

Some roms are marked as bad because they are exactly that--bad dumps. While they may ostensibly run normally, other problems may occur or the simple fact that it's not a perfect image of the original cart.

If you're experiencing any difficulties, there is often the possibility that it's caused by a bad dump so it's best just to keep to [!]/good dumps so you can be certain of what you're dealing with.

see thats what i mean.. theres so much to 'know' but its not really explained anywhere...

1. What game are you trying to play? Some games don't work, or require specific settings.
SUPER SMASH BROS, NO MERCY, any game but ive only downloaded and tried those 2.. and how am i supposed to knwo what are/need the required settings? i dont see much info on that either.

2. What plugins have you used.
Trying to use the one that came with it. The proj64 one doesnt work either.

3. What is your graphics card? (Start > Run, type 'dxdiag' without quotes, go to display tab.) This will tell us if your graphics meet PJ64's minimum requiremnets or not.
SiS 651 Rev 00

4. Is it the same with other emulators? (1964 or Mupen64?)
project64 didnt work.

5. Is your computer fully up to date with drivers and DirectX?
should be.

6. Is your computer generally working well and other games/emulators work fine?
Yes. Mame works fine as well as all the other older system ones.

7. Is the rom you tried fully extracted and verified by GoodN64?
Again, no info on how/what to do. I dont think i have GoodN64. Some help on that would be useful.

SiS graphics are probably the cause. Jabo's plugins are meant for GeForce 3 or above. You may get better results with Glide64 and eVoodoo or some other plugins.

It is your video card. SiS cards overall do not work well with Project64/1964...or any n64 emulator in that matter. Your better off buying a cheap nvidia or ati card to at least get the games running.
