What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

High Resolution Guide and Texture Pack Mirrors

Hey all,

I've written up a guide on using texture packs, making use of the Glide64 plugin, and including video and screenshot comparisons at SavvyGeek:
http://savvygeek.com/2008/07/07/nintendo-64-games-in-high-resolution-glory/

As part of the guide, I have posted downloads of texture packs for The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, and Super Smash Brothers.

I am considering creating a section of the site to host texture packs, as well as provide guides on how to use them if anybody is interested in that. Hopefully that would allow us to stop using MegaUpload, Rapidshare, etc. for hosting.

Thoughts?

I think personally, this is awesome. We need more mirrors, and decent ones at that. As for the guide, its quite neat. :)

I always thought people should submit their projects to modDB.com under "mods" for the N64, get a little organized. On these forums there are no "readme.txt" distributed with releases, no version numbers, no websites, downloads and updates are mixed in with the the posts instead of being edited into the original first post, downloads hosted on public upload sites that end up being deleted after a couple of months... trying to keep track of what's going on is absolute hell, the lack of revision/version numbers particularly.

I include a Readme.txt with every release of my pack AND I include an updated download in my original post (along with updated pictures that I still quitely update to this day)

Too bad my pack gets ignored these days... :( :p
