DirectX renderer with semi-pixel shaders work fine on my FX5200. Keep the default options for the other settings. Most of games settings are pre-configured in the ini file for best compatibility/performance. If you need to change framebuffer effects (e.g. for Pokemon Stadium 2), I suggest starting from "basic framebuffer" and "basic render-to-texture".

just use to fit your card. This feature actually works correctly now i believe. and i put basic framebuffer as default setting. seems to work well. and uncheck the n64 native resolution box in default cfg. and check the other three. and remember some games require differant combiner than your default one. like mario golf runs best with 3 stage combiner even though my default would be pixel shader or semi pixel shader.

3 stage combiner or pixel shaders don't work with Riva TnT2.

@Psicomantis
the best method is the old trial-error method. get your favorite games and try.
it's not difficult to change the configs, since we have a beautiful and functional GUI.
put your focus in directx tab and general options tab and you will get great results!!!!

i was saying that some games require other than your default setting for combiner. and that was an example for my card.

Eventually (years down the road) I envision different inis for different specs. :D Of course, that will constantly be updated as new machines come out. I can't wait till we're scoffing at emulating the game cube or xbox on our 6 ghz 1 gb memory dual athlon 64 boxes, and laughing about almost filling up our $20 1TB array of hard drives with stupidly uncompressed ISOs.

Or the Patriot Act and DCMCA screws it all up, and we enter a new era of economic depression where Asia starts outsourcing to third world Europe and the US. Draconian FBI unchecked searches and seizes anyone with out a serial key imprinted on their forehead.
