If you can use .ccd then you also can use .mds because there both files that are used as images in some format or another. There are the virtual drive used like deamon tools or alcohol 120% and what not more. These programs have limitations and can not use all differen't image formats but when they do support a image file format then this will not give any problems with chankast.

If you get the CD Player screen then you probably run Windows 2000. Check the Chankast F.A.Q. Before asking anything. That's what it says in the Chankast Main Forum as a sticky. SO USE IT!?! Thank you.

No dude I meant the Dreamcast's CD Player screen not Windows's. The Dreamcast CD Player comes up when I load the .mds file.

Yes, I did understand that it was the Dreamcast's CD Player. If a game has been made selfbootable it has a separate audio track within the image. This is generally the first track about 2mb in size. When a image has this it should boot within chankast.

Since you get the Dreamcast's CD Player screen the game has this audio track. It's confusing the bios and it thinks that it's an audio disc. This should not happen and the only things I can advice you at this time is to check if the disc is a selfbootable one. Use UltraIso to check the contents of the image.

If not use an Utopia Boot Disc or make it selfbootable with selfboot, exoboot or makecdi. Only use deamon tools 3.29 with the final .cdi image. Newer versions doesn't read .cdi images properly. You can use Deamon Tools 3.29 to convert the image to another format with your favourite burning program.

This is a very strange problem since your .ccd game boots and the other one does not. This is the only information I can give you for now. Good luck. If you need more help just ask.

Ok thanks. I d/led the trial version of UltraISO and although it wouldn't save over 300mb I see you can delete certain files and resave it as an image. So yeah this would most likely work and I'll try and get the full version so I can save over 300mb. Thanks man

Hello
I have the same problem(I get the cdplayer screen only and if i choose play the dreamcast logo shows up again). I'm trying with a self bootable soul calibur cdi, it has the audiotrack(checked with isobuster) so it must be good. But the newest Ultraiso can't open it(unknown image format) I'm using daemon 3.29. I even tried some homebrew boot disc, I think its the utopia, I'm not sure(how do I now), but it's the same. If I choose play the dreamcast logo shows up again.
Please help me, cause I've spent a lot of time trying to make it work and I'm getting really pissed.
thx

Which chancast version you are using?
Is your bios write protected?

For me only chacast 0.25 works with my selfmade images!

see you
