is there any special settings to getting this to run properly? cos when i try to play it goes very slow, jumps and the camera jumps up and down sort of in other words it's unplayable. is there any way to get it to work or won't it play it all at the moment?

For PJ64: Use Jabo's D3D6 1.5.1 + make sure emulate clear is enabledto fix the camera prob...

BUT: The game runs MUCH better with 1964 0.9.9 with either Rice's Daedalus or Jabo's plugin. I would recommend this for the best experience with this game.

Do you still have to modify the CF with Rice's plugin or was that a core issue? I just transfered a renamed PJ64 native state to 1964 to skip the intro altogether if that is still a problem.

i read all your msgs in this forum, and i have a question........

Your computer is Ok?

coz you can't even play mariokart with 1964 (i can play with 4xAA, 8xANISO)........and i never seen a computer that can't run 1964 0.99 (except the K6II ones)
verify your drivers, directx, OS, motherboard, heatsink.....
you can call a experienced friend to take a look more closer into your computer.....

there's nothing wrong with my computer i have: amd athlon 2800+ XP, 1 gb of ddr ram and a geforce 4 ti 4200 with 8xAGP. i have latest video card drivers installed plus direxct x 9.0.

anyway i've given up on 1964 at the moment it has great potential to be a great n64 emulator but at the moment it's too unstable and too hard to get games to run on it. it may be better but i always choose compatability over quality i have beter luck using P64 i can play all my games on that perfectly...except for donkey kong 64. oh and banjo kazooie slows down when your jiggy total appears but it's livable with.

Lol , is DK64 copy-protected or something ? It seems that the code can't be emulated properly , and this causes the timing, collision glitches and finally a crash....

i remember (this is really old) about rumors of a protection in banjo-tooie, but not in dk64......
AND only rumors........

i had the exact same problem, but the funny thing is donkey kong isnt even suppost to be there, the ship is in the intro and somehow you appear in it and get to swim around during the intro movie, wierd?

I have just the same problem! I searched for similar threads, and always when someone mentioned that he can walk through the walls of this ship, nobody answered..
What do I have to do, then? Won`t it work at all?óO
(Don`t tell me that it must be a bad rom, because it isn`t!!)

i have weird problems with this game too, like lines appear on dk like he is stretching out in lines or something and when im in a level it starts me over sometimes, this game is not that good anyway

Donkey Kong 64 still has a few core issues left with both 1964 0.9.9 and PJ64 1.6, but it is much better than it was in 1964 0.85 and PJ64 1.5. Most graphics plugins work fine apart from the zipper transistion that appears to be unemulated in every plugin.

The lines do not hinder your gameplay, ignore them and after a while you don't notice them. The only time I've noticed level starting over is on the first one and it does not happen that often. this is the best you're going to get i'm afraid, take it or leave it :p

Plus, I said Near Perfectly, not perfectly, Near Perfect means not perfect but close to it. So I am not wrong. With 2 minor bugs I don't see a reason why DK64 cannot be enjoyed.
