how do i get this to run faster without having to get a new processor? star fox goes really slow in some places, and the same with some other games too.

and i saw something about overclocking a celeron processor, what is that? what does it do? and how do you do it? thanks for the help.

Try using Rice's Daedalus for Starfox. It slows down in parts for me too on my system using Jabo's on the Stage Select screen for example, so using Rice's Daedalus it's fullspeed.

You can improve speed by using Azimer's audio plugins instead of resource-hogging Jabo's DirectSound. Decreasing the resolution helps if you have it on a high one normally.

it's still very choppy....possibly because i raised the resolution a bit, 400x300 is way too small....anyway what is this overclocking your processor? how do i do it? if i do decide to do it will it screw up my processor?

The decent one
1964 is 40% faster than PJ64, so you may want to use 1964 (you can copy Jabo's d3d plugin to there if you want).

1964 doesn't seem to work any faster th pj64, and the azhimer's audio plugin is worse that jabos, it's almost impossible to get clear sound from it.

Overclocking your processor isn't really a good idea if you don't know what you are doing, and may not increase the performance all that much.

You can make 1964 faster quite easily by using the various frameskip options (there are loads, great for slow processors- ideal for your system)

You can use 1964s auto frameskip, the auto-CF Timing adjust and also the frameskip in Rice's plugin too. This may look choppy, but on a low-end system you can't expect it to run perfectly.
