Help! Paper Mario bug

Problem: When entering combat it lags and skips and sound skips very slowly. Takes over 10 seconds to finally get into combat.

Notes: Using hires textures

You could try Glide64HQ, too.

I don't think my comp specs are something to worry about. However the only thing I changed from default with rice is high full screen resolution. Full antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. Besides that Texture Enhancements.

He has a 3Ghz processor, 3-4gb ram, and a wicked sick graphics card.
