Having DirectX problems...

...i.e., I'm clueless where all these files should end up.
I just copied or stuck all the files I needed in the same folder.

This is what I've mananged up to this point:
1. Got the required .bin files; in said folder, with other .dlls from Chankast.
2. Attempt to start Chankast; needed d3d9.dll.
3. Mistakenly downloaded the file by itself; now need full DirectX.
4. Will not download DirectX; claims version being downloaded is not trustable.
5. Do have DirectX; not sure which version, though.
6. Error now claims: "The prodecure entry point DdEntry10 could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll."
7. Pissed because I even have another piece ready after +12 hours on BitTorrent.
8. Drives are all set, and said piece is loaded into my brand new "F:" drive.

Could somebody help me try and finish this without installing or updating DirectX, or help figure out how to bypass the Windows inspection and install it?

there is more to starting chankast than that but..did you do your adaptec aspi update and make sure its matching.make sure you runtime is up to date.this is explained in the faq.directX must be 9.0or newer.CPU must have SSE.the error you are getting suggests that direct x is not 9.0.

if you dont want to download dx9 because you think its bad, well thats your problem. You wont be able to play many games that use dx9. Theres no way to play without it.
