GTA fan arrested for attempted GTA

A guy sporting a Grand Theft Auto tattoo on his back was arrested recently for allegedly trying to steal a car, the Royal Candian Mounted police said.

It sounds like Shylo Kujawski would have actually stolen the car if he hadn't somehow managed to disable the car with the owner's steering wheel lock, police said. That's right, he actually put the lock on the steering wheel before trying to steal it.

The twit, a convicted auto thief, was identified thanks to his ginormous tatoo that proclaimed his love for the game and the apparent hobby.

I'm with Jaz on this one, why the hell has it got to be a games fault - theres loads of "influences" in the world, but personally I believe that blaming media is about as lame as you can get. Well if you practice something a lot in a game ... I suppose one can get there brain stuck in the wrong mode of thinking. I never played GTA myself. There are some things people just shouldn't think about. Stealing cars and killing people are high on my list of things not to contemplate.

Theres a big difference between the world of Fantasy and Reality. Shooting someones head off in GTA doesn't automatically make me a candidate for Americas number one criminal no matter how you look at it.

There are those that are fucked up and cannot tell the difference but they are a ticking time bomb ready to go off - Theivery is NOT the same as killing people, If I take a bottle of Pepsi from you that's theivery, if I stick a knife in your brain thats murder. Comparing stealing to murder is like comparing a computer to a toaster. After all, a toaster makes you feel just as good as a computer does because both of them imit heat.

I do not condone anyone acting like they do in GTA in real life, they shouldn't, keep it in the game where it belongs and cannot harm anyone, it is difficult to avoid killing virtual guys in games because it happens in pretty much all games EVEN MARIO, what do you think mario is doing when he lands on those little guys heads, their gone... its a basic level of killing.

Ummm right... I play hitman myself. Along with Dirge of Cerberus etc. Some people are allready in poor thinking agreed. The world of reality can get blured slured etc. Some people know when to put the controller down and say "all right time to make dinner!" However some don't obviously.

This is where you are a bit off mark. Fine you don't directly kill someone. Acidental or incidental death is still death, and a consequential result of theft at times.

Ahem let's follow your example, let's say someone is diabetic and buy that bottle of pepsi to get there sugar level to a proper state. You steal there pepsi. They pass out, they go into a coma, they die, that has happened and can happen.
Don't be so nieve to think that stealing isn't dangerous, or cannot easily end up someone (the victim) end up being quite dead. It's nearly happened to me, some turd stole my freaking insulin (it was IN something), PERSONAL experience, I personally almost died as a result (hyper glycemia and then ketoacidosis) I didn't have any 'spare' insulin on me at the time. Theft is NOT so inane as not to end up people dying as a result. It's happened, and almost personally happened to me.

Sometimes one has to use good thinking to understand these things. I have no objection to games, when people act on what is in the game, that is when things go bad. Theft in my experience has nearly cost me my life, several personal items that can never be replaced (like university research materials for a paper and project as an example). The world isn't kind to those who make even a small error in judgement, just once, is all it takes. I am just thankful to still be breathing afterward. Who knows what the person did with my insulin (note it was popular to use in weight lifting for boosting absorbtion of sugar into muscles for a while).

I won't argue that theft isn't wrong, i know that it is wrong... my argument is against those using games as scapegoats. Whoever stole your insulin did so with his own sick twisted mind, Hope you started carrying more than one dose with you at all times after that incident but thats another matter.

Stealing something in GTA isn't really stealing... its not as easy to steal a car as it is in GTA. The game characters practically give the cars to you in the game, 90% of cars parked are left unlocked. You can carry an infinate number of weapons around with you - who can do that in real life? I'll just switch to rocket launcher right now! mwha ha.

End of the day, if you theft or kill its your fault and you should own up to it and not try to shift the blame to someone or something else. Those are the sort of people who try to ruin life for everyone. It's like me saying i've murdering my dog because of BBC News! (Btw I Haven't )

They can release all the games they want, people is supposed to be able to distinguish the barrier between the fiction and the reality. For example the football is a good and amusing sport, I love it and I´m a good person but there´s people that use it as excuse to show his violence, so football should be prohibited? NO, that people should be send to jail. I like GTA games because all people have a little destruction instinct and it´s funny for example to burn a car and see it blasting and because you´re free to do what you want like no other games let you do, but it´s funny because it´s a game, in the real world I´m the most respectful person with the cars in my city (differently to envious people that scratch it), it has nothing to do with how is the person in the reality, at least in the case of people who is in his right mind, retarded people should be in the mental hospital.

PS: I´m very upset with this and those who blame the games should be too, imagine you like a gam..music group, sport, film, religion... and tomorrow a murder uses that as excuse and it´s prohibited in all the country... The whole GTA thing is way out of proportion, the game has an age rate so if a kid is caught doing dome mischief and blame GTA, well, blame his parents because they did not censored their kid, if a grown man is caught on some crime and blame GTA, well, lock him up because he is sure trying to use the game´s infamous nature to get some sentence reduction.
