Good renaming question

I'd like to have my files renamed without flags. This way when I generate the ROM.LST only the ROMs true name will be shortened.

So can Good utils do this for me, if so how? Is there a DOS trick with ren I can do that will remove all the (U), [!], and other extra naming flags? or, finally is there a third party app that can do this?

I don't know, why you want to do that, but here my advice: download the pro CKRename /freeware, I think) and let the GoodTools rename your Roms. After doing this on the right side is a option replace ___ with ___ and put into the first one your flags (like [!] (U) and...) and in the second you didn't enter anything. That will remove the flags! Peace brother!

My bad I must be like in a fog this morning.

I'm building a DreamSNES disk. I noted those various flags were eating up part of the 31 characters allowed for the name. I thought I would get rid of them then see how my list looks afterward. Of course it would be done for this disk only as on my PC I prefer the full name.

Thanks for the program name too. Looks like it will do what I am wanting perfectly.
