Thinking the same thing.
I have owned 2 matrox cards in the past, and both promised much more than they gave, much like this parhelia card is doing. I hate matrox almost as much as I hate ATI and their deceptive benchmark cheating, as well as drivers that constantly have compatibility issues (they have a history of driver problems dating way back to the early dos days)
Only good card mfrs IMO were 3dfx and nvidia. 3DFX was good until they refused to keep up with the times (texture quality always sucked on those cards) and then started going out of the way with gimmicks (e.g. a card that was "so powerful" it needed an external power source, lmao what a joke). Nvidia simply has a sweet way of doing their drivers (who'da thought that their old riva 128 drivers are still being updated and optimized along with the new cards? excellent unified driver system), they are constantly finding new ways of improving even the old cards, probably the main reason I always buy their cards. I have yet to be dissapointed by them.
