gfx Plugin question

Hi all
i dont have any problems with pj64 :icecream:
but i was wondering if there is any plugin that just had 2d smoothing "only" (antialias?)
for instance, the trees in mario and mario kart have massive pixels thanx to nintendo making small images to save valuable mem space, i have included 2 pics for example

Well I didn't notice this thread before now. I think Rices plugin has options that !may! allow you to do this. I'll go and have a mess about later to see if I can find out anything.

/Can't really help, just maxing out the AA/AF and using the best plugin filters is about the best I've found. Anyways this is a bump at the least eh.

I refreshed the thread ten times myself, just to make it look like I cared.

Plugins that can use 2xSai or HqXx filters like Direct64 and Rice's Video can smooth those trees or any other 2D sprites. This increases the system requirements somewhat, so don't complain if it causes choppyness.

doesnt the 2xSai HqXx smooth off the 3d too though ?
my system is probably 50 time more than adequate for a n64 emulator so im not too worried about choppyness.
ill give Rice's plugin a try and see how it turns out

They won't smooth the edges of 3D objects, but will smooth the textures used on 3D objects.

The trees in SM64 and MK are so jagged, no amount of filtering will completely smooth the edges. Here's the hq2x filter in Rice's plugin. Takes away the sharp points, but there's still a noticeable stair-step effect.
