What's new

GENS, GENSPlus, or GENS32 ?

Damn, I never even knew that improvements were still being made to Gens, which I've always thought to be the best of the Genesis emulators.

Anybody have some url's for these other versions of Gens? I'd love to check them out. :)

BIOS files are not always essential to the emulation of a system. Master System and Gameboy emulators do not require BIOS files either even though the real systems have a BIOS. Ask a developer.

Why don't they upgrade/update/program Gens Plus!/Kega Fusion the same way in order that no illegal 32x-BIOS-file is required anymore?

Kega Fusion + Gens Plus! = Tier 1

Although I do not have low level knowledge of the Genesis nor it's add-ons, it's a pretty logical assumption that in the case of the 32x and SegaCD, the BIOS files are truely needed, otherwise the authors of the emulators would have coded their emulator in such a way to not require the BIOS. On the other hand, the OS ROM is non-essential for ordinary games.

I wonder why (from a technical point of view)...
It's also a puzzle for me why the skybox of Goldeneye 007 is so difficult to emulate, it works finde with dozens of other N64-ROMs...

The skybox which other games use is evidently not the same as the one Goldeneye uses.

It seems like there are always two main emulators dominating in one sector:

- Project 64 vs. 1964
- SNES9xppse vs. zSNES
- Nestopia vs. FCE Ultra
- Kega Fusion vs. Gens Plus!

So according to your first comment the Kega Fusion-Installer/Binary does not carry any BIOS-files in it?

Just two things
it`s
- uosnes vs. zSNES
and
- virtuanes vs. nestopia.

now everything is as it is

ewww...
