General PJ64 Rom Problem...

hey everyone, im new.
been playing roms on pj64 for a while. My problem is now every time i try to load more graphics demanding game (perfect dark, zeldaOOT, banjo Kazooi) it gives me an error that says i dont have enough ram to load the rom.

this problem is strange because i use to be able to play zeldaOOT before i upgraded from PJ64 1.3 to 1.5

Any help getting this problem resolved would be great!

my specs are....
p4 1.6A at 2.3 Stable
512 mb ddr ram
40 GB HD
ATI Radeon 8500 64mb

I dont think my system specs are short of whats needed for any of these games.

Also, Goldeneye 007 loads up, but is hardly playable due to frame-rates about 20-30 when action is happening. and banjo will load but freezes after it hits 100% Super Mario Kart has frame-rate problems too. The only rom that seems to work perfectly is Super Mario 64.

Any Ideas?

You have a Radeon + XP Combination, so you have to run the emulator in Win98 compatability mode. That will fix the not enough memory for emu problem.

make sure frame buffer emulation (in jabo's plugin config) is set to "none." if that doesn't work turn off fps limit and vsync, if you havent already. :)

alright, turning off vsync helped a little and when i take off fps limiter most games shoot up to around 100fps. But now the music plays faster and audio is off. Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark still are having fps problems. Is there anything else i can try?

thanks a bunch!

Turn on "Sync Game To Audio" in the audio plugin dialog, and disable the FPS Limiter. That'll work for most ROMs :)

As for GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, those two games have insanely high system requirements in pj64. You're better off trying another emulator.

yeah, i use 1964 for perfect dark and can get around 45fps most of the time with azimer's old audio, but in pj i get less than 30. :(

do you use azimer's old audio in pj64 as well? with it sendind alist to sound plugin (rsp settings)?

otherwise it is not a fair comparison

yes, i have always use old audio+send audio lists to audio plugin. it isn't just perfect dark, but all games besides f-zero x and mario (as far as i can see) are faster for me in 1964, but hell, I like having a plethora of cheats that'll keep me busy for hours at a time, and i'd gladly sacrifice a few fps for it. :)
