Max Payne 2 and GTA: Vice City... both Rockstar games.
I run them both at 1600x1200 and at full detail. For most this is a tad over the top, but for someone who's paid so much for their PC... why not?
Anyway, all is well at about 50-75 fps, (Max Payne seems to have a 75fps cut-off), unless i encounter a particular type of smoke. For example, take the 'Malibu Club' and its' smoggy effect inside.
My framerate drops hugely, down to about 15-20 frames per second, and it shouldn't. Likewise with Max Payne and when I encounter fires with particles.
Any ideas on what's going on? Using the latest 52x drivers, and I know the smoke sections are both DX9 effects...
