GeForce 4!!

gokuss4

Meh...
ok why does everyone go for speed in video cards? wheres the speed without the graphics. i know a geforce 2 and above card (and a v4 and v5) is better than v3 but i found out that a normal tnt1 card is worst than the voodoo3 and i thought it was the other way around, and the voodoo3 is almost as good as a tnt2 but a voodoo3 just doesn't have as much support for graphics. but i would like to get geforce 2 gts/pro 64mb anyday although I DONT HAVE THE FRICKEN MONEY!!!

)... but coming back to the subject(1st post), it is NOT worth waiting for geforce4 to make Zelda look like zelda on GAMECUBE(actually, i thought the 3d link is much better than the 2d 1 in gamecube but im talkin bout lightin effects and stuff), a geforce4 CAN'T actually IMPROVE the gfx in zelda, i mean, if u have a geforce4 and u run some old dos game, its not gonna look like halo or aquanox i think its stupid to even THINK about that.........

Excuse me, but have you tried Zelda 64 with a high resolution in Project 64?? Have you seen how much better the graphics are?? I own a GameCube and I honestly think a GeForce 4 could make the Zelda 64 look like GameCube material.

well i dont agree with you zoomer. first of all a n64 has 64-bit max of graphics, while gamecube has 128-bit. so n64 cant exceed that plus it'll look the same cause the jabo d3d plug-in will still be the same.

a geforce4 wont make jabo d3d 1.4 look any damn diffrent than using a geforce2 or a geforce3. not unless jabo (or some hacka')implements geforce4 fetures into the d3d plugin.

i know i know....

Damn, i know i know, u got a FRICKIN' gf3 tesla, but then, my comp has a 15inch moniker, there is NO 1600X1200 HAHA!!!
But then, im PLANNING to change this card cuz n64 stuffs not the ONLY thing i play, and my other games like black&white and giants CRAWL man, i mean, giants 15fps:plain: IMAGINE, a P4 running giants at 15fps...AT LOWEST resolution tooo......... And i have to get c&c renegade, halo and stuff running later...those probably won't even WORK......ARRRRGH....now look what ya have done....now im all DOWN...:pissed:

It won't make it look better. It will only look like high-res N64 with better filtering.

Gamecube is a 32bit/64bit hybrid, not 128bit.

there is no way u could make Zelda 64 as good-lookin' as the GC Tech demo Zelda. It is a limitation due to the way the game was programmed. Lets just look at poly-count. Sure, a next-gen gfx card (ATi R300, nVidia GeForce4), should be able to increase poly-count with technologies such as TruForm. but this only makes things smoother. To actually use those polygons to make the models more detailed to match a GC, cannot be done(unless a very skilled hax0r can hack the rom). The GC tech demo also took advantage of many other new features of GC (its a tech demo guys), that was never implemented into Zelda 64.

ive recently connected my comp to my TV. the quality of a pj64 running at 640x480 is comparable to the resolution of an Xbox(im talking about normal TV guys, not HDTV). so all u need to beat a GC in resolution is a card capable of running in a resolution higher than 640x480.

finally ur arguement about cpu vs gpu has been answered many times before (i think by smiff). the concept is simple:

cpu gets u speed
gpu gets u eye candy.

*note this only applys to emulation, thats y u get different results in PC games.

actually.....

actually, in my opinoin, zelda 64 LOOKS better than zelda on gc, i mean HOW could they do THAT to link:angry: ok, so its got lighting effects, BUT, this zelda is a TRUE kiddy game... nintendo's NEW policy of creating smaller games like pikmin and lugi's mansiona dn stuff is not working THAT well. I mean, pikmin was good ok, but pikmin was NO where near as good as mario64 or zelda 64 when they were relased, and i needn't tell u guys bout lugi's mansion:pissed:

Well what about Donkey Kong Racing or MarioKartGCN or Super Smash Brothers Melee? Especially SSBM characters and stages are much more than the n64 version ;)

Oh, and in Giants lower the detail and res. And could some1 give me a link of info for TruForm?
I think i'll upgrade to athlon XP with a agp8x mb so i can get gf4 later
