GD-Rom Emualtor?

Are the rumors true? i read from another dreamcast forum that there is a jap site that has been working on a gd-rom emulator.

im not sure what its supposed to do but i believe its supposed to make it so your dvd or cd-rom drive can read disk as if they are really a gd-rom drive.

i was thinking if they can emulate a cd/dvd-rom with things like d-toolz why not emulator GD-ROM.

thats just nonsense, how would you emulate a dvd-rom, if you meant the GD-rom drive, they probably did a a driver for normal cd-rom to read gr-rom cds.


theres is a linux gd-rom driver, i dont know about windows.

The CDROM drives cannot read GDROMs. It is a physical thing that can't be fixed by any software. The GDROMs are more compact than the CDs, they can contain 1GB of data. The CDROM drives cannot read such discs. The site may be saying about an emulator for the drive, like Alcohol, Daemon Tools, etc, where you can mount GDROM images, or something, or is just a bad information, but it CANNOT make a usual drive read GDROMs!

it is impossible using CD-ROM to read GD-ROM disc
b'cos cd-rom laser head is not able to read data
from GD-ROM disc's high density media !

Well, maybe use DVD-ROM with a hack firmware
or special 3rd-party tools. Anyway, I don't see
any existing product which is working so far.
