All the screenshots look fantastic .... unfortunately of course the actual games won't look half as good as that on an actual gameboy. As good as GBA is, the display is a major letdown. My kid doesn't seem to mind, but my 35 year old eyes don't think its worth the trouble.
I know all about the new Afterburner internal light modification thing -- I also know its really tough to install the included antireflective film without making bubbles on the screen. Still, I'm thinking about it.
According to a story I saw at nintendojo.com, Nintendo will be releasing an improved screen version of GBA maybe by year's end, which will have improved display and the return of the contrast control. But still not lighted. WTF?
Nintendo still claims that battery consumption is too great to justify the lighted screen. It seems they've never heard of rechargeable battery packs. After all, they don't make a rechargeable battery pack - you have to buy aftermarket.
GBA games look great on my 19" monitor, though.
