Least Zelda is up there in the high sales figures, its 11 I think, meh its somewhere around there - Absolutely loved that game (The Wii version). One of the best games ever. As for Madden, can't stand that crap, can't stand many sports to be honest.

I doubt Madden and other american football games are all that popular outside United States.

Remember people are escaping reality by playing foot ball in many cases.
Most people aren't 240-360 pounds of solid muscle and bone and aren't between the age of 20 and 35. They don't have the speed or strength to go out and play, so why not indulge a bit?

I wouldn't get such a game but some people do so just for fun. I was surprised at how far Gears of War was up there. Beat out FFXII. Twi P didn't do bad either. However RPG's aren't everyone's taste. I hate platformers myself. They get boring after a while. Duke Nukem (Original Series) was fun.

Not really. A 2 player game of a decent sports game is totally different to actually participating in real life. Both have pros and cons.

And in many ways playing these games is indeed escaping reality.
