Chron Cross is pissing me off. I missed it on relese, and going back to it now (given that it's the follow-up to one of the finest RPGs of all time) I can't help but dislike it. The whole game is cheesy and unlikeable in a very PSX way, in comparison to Chrono Trigger which is lovely in that 16-bit way (maybe I'm getting old). Meh.zAlbee said:

Yeah, the graphics are very good for PSX. Lots of moving sparkly backgrounds and that sort of shit. The bagpipe music in that town was awful, but aside from that it's all good. The battle system was pretty cool, but the magic system sucked IMO (too basic in comparison to FFVII, and the GUI was shitty). The number of characters, and their lack of depth pissed me off too - the main character's a mute (why?) and more or less every other character comes on, says their 3 lines, and then becomes irrelevent. I didn't feel attached to anyone (and outright hated quite a few), which is no good for an RPG.Allnatural said:

Yeah. The reviews I read praised CC for its huge roster. Pfft, talk about diluting depth and development, and most characters joined the quest for reasons that were tenuous at best. CT's characters were far more endearing.Alchy said:
