Gamecube vs. Xbox (in emulation)

both don't support sound yet. both only have a couple playable games. i would imagine Xbox would be easier to emulate. lots of feed-back from Xbox emu developers with more than 1 emu that can play a game.

does anyone think GC emulation will soon beat Xbox emulation? anyone disagree?

This has got bollox to do with Dolphin!

Anyway the XBox is easier to emulate than a GC, since it has a similar architecture to a PC and is just using a 'wrapper' to emulate. The GC on the other hand is based on a PPC processor, which is much more difficult to emulate!

woah, woah, in theory though wouldn't a GC be just as easy to emulate on a mac, with a ppc processor. infact, i surprised we have not seen this.

Still, I do think xbox is ahead, but it's still no where near complete, and seriosuly lacking for any ligitamate purpose. Neithr Gamecube or XBox will be emulated well anough before their sucessors come out, and I suppose this is the way it should be.

At the moment, the gamecube emulation is leading in compataibility, but i'm sure xbox emulation will catch up because the xbox is so similar to the PC

Ive always known that Gamecube would be more dificult to emulate, considering how Nintendo has thrown in their curveballs to throw people off from emulating their products, especially after Zelda: The Ocarina of Time could be emulated almost right after it came out on the market in 1998 on Ultra HLE. But yes Xbox would be easy to emulate I imagine, considering how similar it is to an intel processor. I wouldnt know a lot about this subject in regards to the Xbox.

Xbox... we never know how much of his windows and technic the xbox shares with a pc, but it's a lot. That's why I think the xbox will be the first really good playble next gen console. Look at turok evolution, it's playable at a good spped. Halo shall be playbale too (don't own this game, so can't test it)...
