I try DOA2,Virtual Fighter3,Soul Caliber, and find there's no speed difference between no FSAA and 6xFSAA,though 6xFSAA can get much better visional Experience. Could anyone here tell me the reason?
FSAA works great! Without it games looking really crappy :-/ BTW there is no any speed/FPS decreasing even with FSAAx8 - because in 640x480 the bottle neck is CPU, not GPU.
I think you misunderstood...or I misunderstand you. All emulators are very dependant on CPU power to emulate the system it's meant to, as the CPU has to do almost all of the work. Your video card only render the 3D itself when using chankast, and the DC's 3d graphics isn't that great considering the power of today's 3d cards. So, even if you apply 6X FSAA it will still run same speed as the video card is handling the extra anti-aliasing fine.
thank you Gorxon and Strange you made it clear enough for me. i did misunderstand
though if this is happening then a simple and easy option should be available in the emu to enable fsaa as many users won't need fsaa always on. if there is available power for fsaa then chankast should control fsaa (application controlled nvidia driver option is ticked by default)
thanks for all that info guys!
dc has aa doesn't it? we are not satisfied and add full screen aa just to make sure?
Hmm but situation can be changed in near future, then chanka will support higher resolutions, in that case i think there will be a lot more work for GPU than now...
