Final Fantasy VII AdriPSX Disc 1 Freeze, Help?

Ok...I'm a complete noob when it comes to PSX stuff. My PS2 got totalled, so I asked my friend to teach me to play FFVII on my comp. He gave me the stuff to play them with (AdriPSX ILE1.0.5 for PS emu). He hasn't specifically played 7 with an emulator before, so he said he didn't know whether or not it'll have problems. I'm playing it in OpenGL (Pete's), btw.

In the advanced mode, there's actually a fix for text box problems specifically for FFVII, which led me to believe that FFVII is suppose to be playable (otherwise, why the fix?). Everything runs Perfect (or I'm just not picky). But suddenly, in the middle of disc one, it freezes after a cinematic scene in Rocket Town, the one that shows the failed Shin-Ra 26 launch. If it helps any, it doesn't seem to freeze during the scene, but after it, as it's trying to go back to the room again. I haven't had a single other problem so far, and that includes other cinematics, so I'm very puzzled as to why this is happening. I've searched around other forums, and I've found some other people in the same situation, but no one's replying to their requests for help =( . Can anyone help me out here?

I don't want to sound like a broken record, or diss AdriPSX in any way, but you should get PSX emulators that are superior to AdriPSX (not to mention that AdriPSX is old as hell), like ePSXe, PSXeven, or even pSX....

Final Fantasy VII should play perfectly with Pete's OGL2 plugin. However, you should enable all possible PSX graphics emulation options (like texture window emulation, Framebuffer effects at least on 2, adequate off-screen drawing settings) + perhaps the 'Ignore small framebuffer moves' special game fix.

Well, thanks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to restart, because I just put in 13:32 of non-stop gameplay...but I'll start over if I have to. Have you personally played through FF7 with any of these?

You should be able to use your memory card data in these emulators as well, since they are all PSX emulators and all of them use the same method in storing memory card data in a file. Just take you memory card files from AdriPSX and use them in the other emulators.

I have not played FFVII through on an emulator but I have done extensive test runs.
