Yeah, I know, but PSO doesn't use a monthly fee IIRC? Well I know the xbox version doesn't at least; it's free with the $50 a year xbox live subscription.

PSO sure does use a monthly fee. The Hunter's License for Xbox users is IIRC free with a new subscription to Xbox Live! for a while, but it's $9/month regularly.

Gamecube/X-Box, net access, game disc, hunters license and X-Box live for the X-Box version (yes it's stupid that you need X-Box live as well as the license for PSO on the X-Box)

Xbox version of PSO is free, I am guessing that sega collects that from microsoft as part of the $50 a year xbox-live subscription (which is cheaper than what sega normaly charges for PSO I guess)

Lineage stores your characters on a server, but they never wipe their servers even if you cancel your account it will be there ready for you to reactivate it.

Ahh, ok. I thought "PSO" was "playstation online" or some equivalent, that you had to have some other, Sony-based service and shit.

So with the PS2, characters are just stored on the hdd then?
Anybody got specs on that hdd? I've not seen anything yet for it.

I do have LotR: Return of the King to play now though. It's tempting to get the network adapter (since I already have broadband internet).
