i flipped back some pages and didnt see them asked yet...

but im wondering about lightgun support (im sure its most likely on the list of to do, just obviously not high on the list yet)

and if the SSE will always be a requirement.

i want this in my mame cab, but i dont want to have to get a new chip if it wont be needed eventually. though im sure that depends on just how much SSE helps


and one last Q, i beleive it mentioned not to run off a CD but a disc image. would a DVD be fast enough? id like to burn multiple frequently played games onto a DVD then use daemon off it. less disc swapping and wont take up so much HD space from other emu's

I don't have an answer to the lightgun support.. but i'd guess it's something that might be added when chanka is out of alpha/beta states!!

As for SSE, if they didn't use SSE they would have to use other commands to try and get the same thing done and that would probably mean a huge hit in performance, but I also don't know if it will be required in the future :canadian:

Your last question I can answer, if your using daemon tools to mount the iso's that you have on a dvd-ram (or whatever) then it will work. They say to use images on your harddrive because of a speed issue, I've tried using an actual CD and it's slow, probably due to emulating the GD-rom stuff.
