Athalon XP??? For Gaming??? Have you gone completely nutz??? If you're going for speedy "quality" gaming go with Pentium4... It may be a bit more expensive but the pentium was made specifically for media and high-end gaming... Granted the Athalon XP is a bit faster, it doesn't even compare to pentium's multimedia capabilities...

diggit, dont turn this thread into a intel vs amd thing. Afaik, both amd and intel manufactures processors that are more than capable of running pj64 at full speed...no matter what intel's marketing tells you ;)

I think i heard something about certain radeon users running out of memory in winxp, but not access violations.

BTW will it increase speed in any way or should I also buy a new processor?

It will increase speed depending on your processor. the intel chipset held my computer back a lot but ever since i got the gf2, speed no longer was a problem...

Re: Problems with Killer Instinct Gold

I'm trying to run Killer Instinct gold on Project 64 1.5 Final... I get perfect sound and backgrounds, but all the fighter sprites are completely black. How can I fix this problem??? My specs are: Pentium 4 @ 1.6 Ghz., 640MB SDRAM, 40 Gig HD, nVidia Geforce 2 mx400 32MB video Card. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out with this problem...

One question: Do you also get full speed in-game? Cuz over here, when the fight starts it's becoming unplayable since the MAJOR slowndown and eventually it'll let the emulator hang.

GT64 - Championship Edition (U) [!] : Slow in-game, here I get about 30 FPS (even with Frame Limit disabled).

No,Athlons Xp are optimized for 3d applications(such as games) and P4 processors for music ripping and other applications. Also, the Athlon Xp has way more FPU power than the p4. Also,pj64 is much slower on P4's than on Athlons
Emulord: KI Gold has indeed a major slowdown(plugin prob) but if you have a very powerfull system it can work normally

PROBLEMS IN NO MERCY

I don't know if it dipends by my video card (an ATI RADEON), but in WWE (oops... WWF) No Mercy, when I begin a championship, I don't see any text in the baloons where the wrestlers speak...

So, I can't understand the story...

I know that Pj64 is only an emulator, and if I want to play the games correctly I must buy a N64 with original games...
But I already own a N64, with 55 games (one of them is No Mercy of course), and all I want to do is help the Pj development team reporting that annoying bug, that in my opinion must be reported in the .rdb file...

Another issue in in the Smackdown Mall menus... every text is surrounded by an annoying black square, and the wrestlers' photos fade to black when they apperar...

Are them known issues?
Please reply

So it should let me get more than 35 fps on Zelda MM with correct graphics?

I'll wait on getting a new processor untill I'm ready to fully upgrade or build a new computer. It's too much of an investment and I also need to buy a lot of other things.

Thanks for the help guys.

I have a ? I'm running a nVidia GeForce 2 MX400. Would there be a significant difference if I were to overclock? Also would it be a wise decision to do so? I don't want to screw up my card because I have no means to replace it.

Dancindiggit:dont overcloak. PJ64 stresses your hardware alot and an overcloack can cause major stability issues with it

I think so. I am not guaranteeing that you will get full speed but it will give you the correct graphics.

Ughum, so you're saying that my system isn't powerful enough?

Probably...an Athlon might perform better but i dont know what kind of processor you need to get it running properly

You know what I think, is that most Games and Emus just aren't really build for P4s, since many use Athlons these days. But you're saying that 1700 MHz isn't enough horsepower?

Pj64 has a slowdown issue with P4's since 1.4...they are working much slower than Athlons due to this issue. But still im not sure(dont think so) if they fixed it or not
