I love PJ64 ;)

Hey guys you're doing a fantastic job. I would like to request one idea that I was discussing earlier amongst my friends. :w00t:

I would LOVE to see online multiplayer N64 games, I know, I know, you're thinking that I am absolutely nuts by now... This is how I looked at it, however... :baaa:

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of adding "open slots" for the controller "slots." So for example, you have a (non-dedicated) server machine running PJ64 with his "controller in slot 1 on the 'N64'," and you have a client machine remotely connect to that machine's PJ64 'server' and the client machine merely fills in another "controller slot" on the "N64." Then maybe we could take something as cool as Perfect Dark, for say, and play it with our friends online. Hey, I can always dream, can't I? :D I know that, in actuality, things would get far more complex than what I've said, but I'm sure that I'm not the first one to think about this concept. Maybe one day you guys might just give it a try?

I'm really impressed by project64... you guys have done an amazing job. I've noticed a glitch in v1.5 involving Zelda, Ocarina of Time, though. I posted about it on my "Zelda ocarina of time confusion" thread below.

PJ64 on slower computers?

Hello,

I am very pleased on how smooth the new PJ64 release runs. I have tested it on an Athlon XP 2000+. But what about slower computers, for example my system (Celeron 400, GeForce 200 MX)? Is there a way to operate PJ64 on such machines?
If yes, which plugins do I have to install and what should I configure?
If no, what are the minimum requirements? Could, for example, a PII 800 do the job? (At the moment, I can't afford to buy a new computer.)

Cheers 2 U all,

Gerd

?????????????????????????
No, pj won't run at all at such low-end specs. You will have to use a faster emulator along with some fast plugins.
Ie, 1964 with jabo's plugin and azimer's sound.
As for the minimum requirements...read the faq.

Because i tested it on one of my old pcs and it ran starfox
almost at full speed {45fps out of 60} which aint too bad!!!!

heres the specs

amd k62 @500mhz
128 megabytes ram pc100
40 gig hard drive
nvidiageforce 2 mx
sound blaster 16 pci
15 inch moniter compaq
it was a compaq preserio 7360
made in march 2000

so it is posible just runs sort of slow

that is all

Ok, there is one teensy-weensy little problem. The browser won't start maximized; it always opens in a window.

that code got commented out for reasons unknown.

I don't know if this thread is only for P64 or also for Jabo's plugin...so sorry if I'm wrong here...
I can't get Diddy Kong Racing to run with Jabo's new one...in any emu...ain't that game supported?...I only get a black screen....

And something strange with Banjo-Kazooie when played with Jabo's new one...
When I play it on P64 everything seems to be fine (well...the sky is a bit glitchy...but that'S not that bad)...
But when I tried it with 1964 and UHLE2064 together with Jabo's plugin, there's something strange with the cutscene at the beginning of a new game...there some parts are missing, but the screen is hold on one position for a long time...that is the door where the witch and the broomstick come out from...strangely it doesn't even freeze...there is still smoke come out from the ground...after some time it goes on again...I dunno how to describe it....does anyone know that prob?

which emu do you think Jabo's plugins are part of? zSNES? hmm? that's so annoying. it's like going into PCWorld (god forbid) and saying "excuse me, I don't know if this shop is only for computers or also for memory?" The only reason anyone thinks that is the components aren't all compiled into one .exe...

You questions.. pretty hard to help if you ignore the system specs boxes. And if a plugin works fine in PJ and not in another emu, go ask in that emu's forum. Come on, this is basic stuff please.

See Sig for his specs

Intel Celeron 466 Mhz
128 MB RAM
Diamond Viper V550 16 MB (TNT 1)
Creative Live! 1024
Windows XP pro

:plain: Hmpf...I'm sorry...
I just thought this thread maybe only is about the core...the emulator itself without regard to the plugins...
Anyway...the specs were always in my sig...I'll copy that to those boxes now...

Diddy Kong Racing works with almost perfectly with any plugin, including Jabo's latest. I'm guessing bad rom if it doesn't work with other emulators.
