I would like to know your favourite console of today. Why it is your favourite console and what game you like best on that console. Also I would like to know which emulator do you like the most (for any console at all) and what one do you think will actually be fuly compatible by the time it has been fully developed (or already has been).

this seems to be a "nextgeneration" poll. I voted for gamecube becasue... well... I hait how people dis nintedo for making "Kiddie" games. Nintedo is one of the longest living game companies and they are not gearing their products twards children. I also like xbox (for halo) and ps2 (FF and DMC) but no one can argue the greatness of SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MELEE!

I personally like all the systems since I own all 3, but if I had to choose I would say the Gamecube because of the faster loading times, and I am a loyal fan of the Resident Evil series.

Oy. Too many of these threads, haha. But as always, I say my fave's (not in the list, so I'd choose other if it was there) still Super Nintendo. Nintendo also had some great games, but snes edges it out.

if it was a few months ago, i would of said ps2, but now that i own a xbox, i have fell in love with it, project gotham and ninja gaiden are some of the best games i have ever played.

Ps2 does have the best games, but i have voted xbox because i haven't played my ps2 since i have bought my xbox.

As for gamecube, it is a good console, but there is a lack of games that appeal to me. I found out the hard way (owned one 2 years back) the game collection has improved, but a lot of the games are aimed at japanese people and younger audiences

Blimey how comes the Playstation 2 is the best selling console if no one likes it? Come on it has the ability to play... PS2 games, PS1 games, DVD's, CD's. It also now has the following extensions... Broadband, Harddrive, DVD remote and a lot more whic I cant think of right now.

Plus what is so appealing to other consoles. Not being rude I just wanna know yopur ideas.

Doesnt the size of the XBox put you of or the fact that it is considered "uncool" everywhere I go.

Mind you, you couldnt get bullied for owning one a few hours of lifting that thing and you will be worlds strongest man (or woman).

Besides if you have a xbox if will be easier to play hide and seek... mind you, you would probably get lost.

I actually quite like the XBox (Splinter cell graphics and James Bond EON drew me in even though they are on other consoles the graphics and sound kick ass).

I play N64 games regulary on one of the xbox's (I have 2) and it's stunningly nice, can't wait for an update to .99 core and rice 5.5.1.

Also it's by far the best standalone mediaplayer plays just about everything.

you need to chip it though and both XBMC and surreal64 are compiled with the official XDK making them on shaky legal ground. Still it's got to be the console for me.

I've got a gamecube as well which has some lovely games (my favourite being the original monkey ball) I had a PS2 for quite a while but I sold it to buy the GC (because I thought it was a piece of shit and had completed both GTA's for it).

Yes, because when I buy a gaming console, I want it to be my dvd player and cd player. Not to mention the better quality on a real dvd player. And I would never want to play cds on my tv and if I did, I'd use my real dvd player!!! :O

I'm not insulting the PS2 because I like the games for it, but I am putting down what you said.

And also, the xbox has all of those things, 2/3 of those "extensions" are built in soooooo if that's your reason for liking the ps2 over other consoles, then you should look at the others a little bit harder.

I don't know who you hang around with, but if anything the xbox is the only "cool" console. And it's not that big, if you're put off by the size or by the weight, you must be a skinny ass person. It's not all that big and it doesn't weigh much.

It's the only console I've seen anyone even remotely "cool" want to play. That's at least for multiplayer games.

I just think what you said was the dumbest reason to dislike a console.

"You shouldn't like the xbox because it's too big"

But then of course you say that you do actually like the console which would make me wonder why you said all of that in the first place.


Anyways, my fav next gen console would have to be the Gamecube or XBox. My girlfriend loves the gamecube and likes those games and I like to play them with her, but then I also love to play xbox games... sooo it's a tie.

Do you know what that means? YUP The consoles that are being marketed now.

It is not only its hardware that makes a console good but also its software. I like a couple of games almost on every console (FF X on PS2, Zelda and Mario kart on GC, HALO on XBOX, althought some games like Soul Calibur look better on XBOX).
BUT I vote Game Boy Advance (SP) because I can take it with me everywhere and has some very good RPGs (like Golden Sun 1-2 and Lunar) and some very good games from Genesis and SNES, plus many other newer good games (like the Castlevania series).

What do you expect on a primarily Nintendo emulation board.

So does my PC, well PS2 not all that well yet... I don't think that consoles should be 'media centres' (PC wannabes) or anything, just play games and do that well. I already have a DVD player AND a DVD drive in my PC. I don't need anymore DVD playing stuff! All three consoles have broadband. Hardly any PS2 games use the hard drive whereas XBox uses it all the time. GC needs no hard drive.

Doesn't the "Early 1990s VCR Appearance" of the PS2 make it 'uncool'? The GC is the best looking console easily unless you're blind.
