everybody is frozen in half life 2

i just started playing half life 2, and beleive me i was enjoying it. i saved and stoped playing then the next day i started playing none of the characters movie....like the people. they just stand there frozen, even this helicopter that was chasing me (i'm pretty much in the beginning of the game). i tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it but they still dont move......little help please

Did you uninstall both Half-Life 2 and Steam?

Or then your savefiles have corrupted.

yeah i got both.....so if i just restart it without saved files it should work then?

oh no......i just uninstalled half life.......alright i'll try uninstalling it all

Its probably a scripting error(?). Yeah, you're best just re-installing everything.

alright i got it fixed. i got rid of Steam and it worked fine. of course when i loaded a saved game they all froze. so i got rid of everything and just installed half life 2, not steam....and of course got rid of my saved games. so now i'm good.....of course the real test is tomorrow when i load up my game will everybody be moving.

you installed HL2 without steam?
Is it an original copy?

Steam needs to be there for HL2 to work. Is your copy pirated?

The problem he is having is a very common one with the pirated version, thread needs closing.
