error msg with Direct64 0.5.03.25

i can load the plugin, but when i try to change the settings of the plugin, or to run a game, i get the error message " error creating direct 3d device.
does anyone know what i should do to get it to work ?

You need to post your graphics card before anyone can help. It has to support Pixel Shaders, otherwise it won't work.

i got a crappy 3d Prophet 4000 xt 32 megs pci

That's a Kyro, right? They do not support Pixel Shaders, so Direct64 won't work.

Will this requirement be worked around or will that always be a requirement of this plugin?

Orkin decided to move to DirectX 9.0 from OpenGL of the earlier plugin so that he could make full use of his new graphics card, and wants to bring in newer features of these cards into N64 emulation. I don't think the intent of the plugin is to make it compatible with every graphics card, as this would be too much work and counter-productive to the true aims of this plugin.
