Error Messages After installing Project64 1.6

I receive these 3 error messages immediately after I install Project64 1.6 on my laptop:

Everything was working fine until I had to re-format my hard drive and re-install Windows XP. Now I can't get it to work. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get Project64 working again?

Laptop Specs:
OS: Windows XP Professional Edition Service Pack 2
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.66 GHz Processor
Memory: 256 MB Dimm Ram
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200
Sound Card: SigmaTel C-Major Audio
Other: 80GB Hard Drive, Samsung 24x CD-RW/DVD Drive, 15’’ LCD Screen

Do you have the latest version of DirectX and your nVidia drivers?

run DXDiag and run some test on your 3d stuff

I ran some tests with dxdiag and under the display tab I see this message:

"Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer"

What does this mean and could this be the problem?

Are you 100% sure you have installed the correct driver? Have you tried installing the version you were using before you formatted?

The error above is implying that for one reason or another, 3D hardware acceleration isn't working.

There's indeed something very wrong with the drivers when you get those kind of messages.

I checked my video driver and found that they were corrupt. I downloaded and re-installed the drivers and everything's working prefectly. Thanks Poobah, axcc123 and Agozer for your help.
