for anyone who is interested heres what's on page 1:

the return of the gameboxes

the pc as multiconsole via emulation

first generation videogames don't be on the shelf, instead to forget the fun-pioneers of the 70s and 80s the fans created emulators that allow to play the classics of various systems, form the atari vcs 2600 to the psx, on the pc.

the classic console lies on the livingroom floor, but the emulators conquer office pcs that were heaviely guarded by Lara Croft (& etc) console stars like mario or sonic didn't lose any fascination over the years. even though they lacking highres gfx and boombasic sfx you still enjoy the adventures of the funny characters or to beat your opponent up in street fighter.

The console stars are revived by emulation and enjoyed on the pc. The often free programs simulate the console hardware on the pc, that includes cpu, gpu and sound. The emulators are superior to most older consoles, you can now save your process whenever you want and save time when loading form cd-rom or disk. multiplayer is no longer limited to only one tv screen, the software often allows to play over the net. not every emulator on the following pages provides all of these features but all have some advantages over the original system.

The fact that documentation and the sourcecode of emulators is available on the internet, made some authors port emulators to the xbox and ps2.

Everyone who wants to play using an emulator must be willingness to compromise, the tv-output must be adjusted to the pc monitor, most emulators feature various options for that a scanline mode is common (a effect that often occurs on arcade machines) and the keyboard often replaces the gamepad.

in 1984 one of nintendo's first consoles had to compete with the atari vcs 2600 that had been successful around since 1977. it wasn't long before the nintendo entertainment system (nes) with it's superstar mario replaced the pacman era. with family games concept of the mario and the legend of zelda series the nes was even the number one system in the eyes of the parents

please don't bother me with typos/bad gramma
