I have the emu working

but the gfx are kinda horrable. is there some new video plugin i need?

Since there's no updated video plugin that I know of, it could be that you don't have a very good graphics card, but then that's hard to put a finger on because, erm, you didn't post what card you have. As it stands though, if your card uses an Intel or S3 graphics chipset, don't expect Chankast to look very nice. :|

EDIT: It might also be worth updating your graphics card drivers, and / or updating to a newer version of DirectX. Just in case you haven't already.
