Well, I'm not using XP, but I really like Foxmail.

Unless you have very very special needs, just about anything will do. I can't think of any mail client that can't read mail, reply to mail, compose mail, forward mail, and has an address book feature. Just find something thats not bloatware and isn't exploited to hell.

Outlook Express 6.0 is fine, but a little buggy. In all truth, anything will be fine

I'm trying to get away from using OE, and IE, I like Foxmail but the visual fuck up when using Windows Blinds is annoying
I'm playing about with Mozilla in general so I may use that, of course if the mail in opera 7 is tweaked to make a bit more sense then it'd be alright

that's the EXACT point of micro$oft. they don't want users to use software besides theirs. fuck them. i use Pegasus Mail. it's been around since more than 10 years, and is very reliable and feature-rich. small, and free.

Besides that you can get infected by viruses in outlook only by recieving mails. Not even opening & download attachments in them.
