depends on the game i think. some early bad NTSC>PAL ports with borders, do run slower. e.g. Mario Kart, Pilotwings, Mario64 even.. basically if it had big top & bottom borders in the PAL version and not the NTSC, the video wasnt converted for higher res, it probably runs slower aswell.
anyone correct me if im wrong

Smiff hit the nail on the head, although several PAL games do have to black borders even today. The lower framerate becomes quite apparent when doing spedruns. Although in certain games with good PAL ocnversions the "slowdown" is less noticeable, but it's still there.

Basically, PAL60 is the best thing that hs happened to us, provided that the TVs support PAL60 (the weird thing is that a TV can support PAL60 but doesn't support NTSC signal at all).

btw the video aspect is wrong in all PJ64 versions up to and incl. 1.6. so you can't use PJ64 1.6 to tell whether a PAL game has borders.
v1.7 has the aspects right, but we still can't fix the speed because the audio buffers are set in the game.. unless we start patching PAL games maybe..
