DOS Games

i downloaded a DOS game onto my windows XP proffesional-TRIPLANE TURMOIL, trying to revive the old glory days of fun on my 95, and the sound is completely screwed up. I'm able to recognize it, but there's a ass-load of static. And also, when i try to play it on 800x600 VEGA mode, my monitor says that it won't work.

Sorry for being long-winded and typing too much-Help?

You might try vdmsound for sound compatibility, and/or dosbox to run the game... both are free.

Never attempt to run DOS games from Windows XP. Windows XP doesn't have DOS, just the command prompt so the command prompt only supports the very basic functions of the old MS-DOS (i.e. very simple programs with simple interfaces).

Like it was mentioned already, DOSBox + VDMSound combo works wonders.
