No, I'm not an author of Chankast, but I am a programmer. What this means is that I do understand why the Chankast authors don't want to see feature requests on the forum.
And no, if you took the time to read my reply correctly you will find that I did not say not to donate. I said that donating does not give you the right to request features.
Clearly, you have confused the concept of what a donation is. A donation is for the authors to fund possible further work on the emulator. What that work is, if any, is up to the authors to decide. A donation is not a term of employment.
According to various online dictionarys, the definition of the word 'donation' is:
The act of giving to a fund or cause. A gift or grant. The act by which a person voluntarily transfers the title to a thing of which he is the owner, from himself to another, without any consideration, as a free gift.Gift; present; benefaction; grant.
I've underlined the key words just in case you can't comprehend. Notice the emphasis on gift, giving, present. I don't see any mention of the words 'contract' or 'employ' or 'do as i say because i gave you a bit of money'.
Some notes from the FAQ:
Q: When is the next version going to be released?
A: When it will be ready, so please don't ask.
In case you cannot make it work whatever you do, you may have to wait for a more stable release. Understood? Got it? Capito?
So, precisely which part of these statements don't you understand. It looks pretty clear to me. I don't see it written anywhere that donating gives you the right to break these rules.
However you choose to word it, requesting features is the same as requesting the next version.
Don't get pissed at me. I don't write the rules, but I am one of the many people here that do choose to adhere to them. I'm sure everyone here (myself included) have a massive list of features they would like to see chankast have. Yet the only time you see someone request features is when they're a newbie who 'forgot' to read the FAQ. So why do you think that is? Do you think that maybe that might be because of the rules. Can you give me any other reason why most people are not requesting features. I think if this was allowed, then every second thread would be 'I want...'.
I don't want to be nasty to anyone but it seems as if people like you never give up. Even when the rules are there waiting for you to read and even (i can't believe this one) when you have actually read them. Maybe you got different rules on your forum, but this is not your fourm (or mine). The most likely reason why no-one replyed to this thread for around 5 hours is because they are sick and tired of people breaking these rules.
As you will see by my other posts here:
1) I go out of my way to help new people get chankast and related material going.
2) I politely point out the rules to new people requesting features who have not read the FAQ.
3) I get real annoyed when, after new people have read the FAQ, they still choose to break the rules. I'm still not sure what the incentive is to break them.
Make sure any future comments you make have solid facts to back them up, because I always do.:whistling
