Dolphin's Limits?

Hey guys, just a quick question. What is Dolphin's limits if i had like a blazing pc? By blazing i mean like a quad core, 4gb ram, 8800gtx(or a 9800gtx) when available.Ive seen some people post nice pc specs but nothing to match the above.I ask because im hoping to shell out on a machine that will last me a few years and thus will run all stuff i need.Dolphin is a bonus! :)

Great work on this project!

Cheers

It would be better to get a higher-clocked dual-core than a quad-core CPU at this point. AFAIK the latest Dolphin version can only take advantage of two cores.

Why would you want to reach 60fps when the Gamecube only runs at 30fps

Who said 30fps was the limit in dolphin beta 3? I have full speed in Mariokart Double Dash... 35-40 fps in Windwaker :p

Why would you want to reach 60fps when the Gamecube only runs at 30fps :plain:

The Gamecube as a whole doesn't run at any FPS. It's all about the software's internal redrawing rate. In other words, WW does run at 30 true FPS, while Metroid Prime runs at a true 60.

Your USB ports are not good enough to run dolphin. :)

LOL

If thats 64bit then you should be able to run dolphin pretty fast :)

?????????????????????????
Everyone needs to separate VI/s and FPS. A console runs at 60 VI/s (or 50 for PAL!), but FPS varies with each game.
So to get full speed, you have to get 60 or 50 VI/s (Vertical Interrupts per second).

If the currently released version of Dolphin had anything resembling correct timing, this would be true.
