Hey X-Fi it looks like I might be switching to a 4850 this week from 8800 - do you find that it affects your Dolphin performance?

A significant CPU upgrade would really make a difference. Keep in mind that recent ATI cards run hotter and use more power than Nvidia cards. Also, the OGL plugin is being improved upon the most recently and Nvidia cards tend to favor OGL plugin.

Cerebus, I would say you would achieve about a 1.5fps difference, perhaps... There's no way to be certain. Read what Urban Zombie (above) said.

Well it depends. If he gets a 1gb 4850 from Sapphire or HIS or another good company, then it should perform slightly better than the 8800 (at least with the DirectX plugin). Then other factors include what resolution he's playing on and how much anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering he has applied, and how many intensive things are running in the background, etc.

It does not matter what video card anyone uses as long as it's supported by Dolphin and it works, then that's all that matters. There will not be any FPS increase. X-F16 does not know what he's talking about.

OK, then...

And also the reason why my compile was so slow was because I accidentally compiled everything under Debug instead of Release. :)

R1347 works nicely for me. :)

What exactly have u done to get resident evil 0's graphics finally working ?
Please let me know your emulator settings and your system requirements and which plugins u are using ?

Does it work with directx plugin ?

Thanks but what I mean is I'm worried that because Dolphin support for ATI is worse than Nvidia I'll get slowdown even though it's a stronger card. I know that it's mainly CPU limited wrt speed.

It used to be that way. But since they "fixed" the OGL plugin the ati cards are high fps also :)

I couldn't upload them due to some error about the uploader creating a temporary file, but here are the pictures so you can see it for yourself.

Also, I might add that an fps of 8 is what I got for most of it, though I couldn't test this beyond the cockpit because I couldn't figure out how to thrust the virtural wiimote forward in shot 15. Audio after the main screen is as fast as it is in Real Life. with no distortions. In the cockpit I didn't notice any graphics errors except for the radar on the top right.

Ah not too shabby results with my 4850. Wind Waker and SMS are nearly fullspeed still (actually I have to limit WW speeds). ZTP I'm having troubles with because it keeps crashing at one particular point and so my progress is blocked and I can't really report till I've figured out how to get past this area. But overall not a big difference. Well done devs!!!

haha yep its working now...the version im trying with is PAL n its kinda fake one cause it has some features unlocked or something like that, but it works.

I can go ingame play for a while but for some reason sometimes it gets frozen...anyway Im glad too see that now its working...great work dolphin team!!!

About freaking time someone showed it!

It is MUCH more stable now then it was to begin with. Also, i don´t know how many of you know this, but the Wiikey is no longer required to play Wii games.
