DOA2 LE crashing in game!

If I play as Tina in story mode, when I get to Zack, the emulator will freeze before the voiceover speaks the first line. This happens every time at the exact moment and I have to clt alt del to end Chankast. I'm using the Echelon version of the image which is 711 mb after the selfboot patch. I've read many reports of the crush in other places so I'm not the only one having this problem. I guess its kind of appearent but I want a confirm, is this an emulation problem or result of the image's incomplete archive of sound data(or other data)? Also, since I have yet to find a post on this forum that mentions this I assume someone have a good rip and I like to know the exact size of the .cdi after the selfboot patch.

There has been talk about this in various threads on this board (for the record, I'm getting this crash too). I've also seen someone post about this problem with DoA2 non LE on ngemu-forums.

It would probably be interesting to know if the same problem happens on an actual Dreamcast. If it does, we know it's the image. If not, well then it's chankast.

Hmm, maby you should try a japanese or asion bios with chankast and see if you get the bug.

Hey, not alone on this one. Same thing happens to me and my "Street Fighter Alpha 3" game. It crashes on every Chankast version it came out after 3-5 minutes of play. I tried emailing the CK team; they haven't replied back yet, but I understand they are busy and such; I hope they note down the suggestions on their agenda for future development.

Don't worry, your english seems well enough.

Anyway, personally I don't really mind the crash. It's not like I can't play the game at all. In fact, despite the obvious speed issues, it's running far better than I would have thought possible for such an early release of an emulator.

Same here, the reason I brought this up was because someone said they dont have this problem, so I wanted to check if it's the cdi causing the crush, thus there might be a better dumped version out there. Since Yawn said it happens on regular DOA2 too I guess that implies the cdi is good
