Like Trotterwatch mentioned, this was posted on Apr 01, 2006 :evil:. Nice joke though. I live in Ohio and I haven't heard anything about this until this thread came up.

But Jeez, (if it is real,) shiny boxes with a "?" presents or some mystery box for a party would be the first thing in my mind.

In fact Fabricio in our EGM version, EGM Brasil, it said that some US students did smth similar as a joke, hanging power up boxes around campus and inside you could get a replica of one of Mario´s power ups.
