Late to post about it, but hey. (just got a card which supports pixel shaders)

Transition effect is awesome. Really nice work Orkin. Now if OoT looked a bit better.. ;)

Heh, I figured it was a problem with my videocard (no PS2.0 support). Guess I was right.. :(

edit: Alfter further inspection all that's wrong is soem particle effects (flames, ring above death mountain) and the burning Zelda logo (the sun doesn't look 100% correct either).. could still be due to lack of ps2.0 support. Also I think it's been mentioned, but OrkinSampling freezes the image if turned on in game, and a black screen if turned on before loading.

Had to cheat to get that far into the game so quickly (i've finished it before fair and square anyway), but i see no problems here.

I cheated too.. sorta. Beta quest and Interface Always On code. ;) I too finished it back in 1998-1999 and don't feel the need to go through it again, although it's an awesome game. :)

Thanks for the info. Maybe I shouldn't have sold the 5200..? Nah. It was too damn slow. :p

Sayargh, you haven't got any coronas there, it's not correct.

And cooliscool, your coronas are seen-through walls

i 'd like to show something: here a screenshot on real n64 of vigilante 8
direct64 is the only plugin which to put in good place every gfx. The only missing gfx are the map on the right which i supect is a yuv jpeg (not sure of course). I really hope that you 'll succeed to do that game working at last.(there is also in game a problem of texture (but well it's not very important) due to the funky lod system that the developers used. (use mupen for this, don't boot with other emu)

Is there universal solution for Radeon9000pro. Because I got black screen with it and Catalyst 4.5 drivers.

Sadly I don't think there is, but I'd love to hear of one (that doesn't involve changing the card). I think Orkin is looking into this though, so hopefully it'll work sometime in the future.

Yes it will be greate because there's a lot of people with dx8.1 radeons .
I'm happy with it and don't want newer card at this moment. I have voodoo3 too , so I haven't problems with not playable games :), but swaping the cards all the time isn't good solution.

Frankly, I hope that Orkin doesn't bother getting pre-DX9 cards to work if it means taking time away from other developments. Yeah, I know they don't have all the cool features of Direct64, but Rice's plugin, Jabo's plugin, TR64 OpenGL, and Glide64 with various wrappers work fine.

I'm not stating he should hold back the plugin or take it backwards to support older cards - though as it is stated to work with Pixel Shaders 1.1 and above, I would at least hope that in future some semblence of support is available for the R8500 and comparable line (which supports 1.4). If it doesn't materialise no big deal, a pity but life will go on.

At the moment I'm happy with seeing the progress, even if I can't be a part of the discoveries.

On behalf of Huuf:

RCGamer I get what you have when I'm using Rice video plugin 5.6.0, but with Direct 64, I get as in the screenshots above, can you post a screenshot with your settings?

Do you have an Nvidia FX video card? Do you have the similar problem with Mario Kart? The problem is related alpha test/compare, could be a problem in Orkin's code. Just wait for a fix.
