Dial Up Connection Problem

My problem is really serious and weird! I'm writing this thread connected at only 14.6 kbps!!!!!!! I have a 56k dial-up connection. A few months ago it was working good but now... I know that is not my IP because i test it at another place. I already reconfigured my connection and is the same. Already reinstall the modems drivers and is the same. What can I do? Should I reinstall Windows? Please don´t tell me to swicth to DSL or cable connections, I can´t

Ask you're ISP for another connection phone number.

Are you on a v90, v92, 56kflex server? different protocals can cause weird problems when both client and user aren't using the same one.

Gimme your ISPs home page if you don't know how to obtain this info

Wires? What wires are you talking about? Malcolm, I already check the protocals, they are the same as before when my dial-up connection was working fine, and my IP hasn't made any changes. I also discover that my modem is not working good with other dial-up connections

uhhh the phone wires maybe?

1) The phone cables could be dodgy for a start
2) Perhaps your ISP is just crap
3) redial until you get a faster connection if nesicary, it happens.

Well, I already re-installed Windows and the problem is still there... I'll try checking the wires and test the modem on a friend PC

FINAL UPDATE: The modem was bad, I changed it for a new one and now evrything is OK. Thanks guys for the support.
