This guide is intended for users that have never used mIRC or similar chat programs.
We all know that getting help on Emutalk.net can sometimes take a while, because we all live in different time zones, and can't reply to questions as quick as you would like. But now, you can find the best helpers on IRC, where the Emu-Authors and Staff Members will be more then willing to help you. There are only a few short steps that you must go through beforehand :
Step 1
Get mIRC from http://www.mirc.co.uk , and install it. Then double click the executive (as shown in the picture below) in the directory you installed it to (usually c:/Program Files/mIRC/mIRC.exe), and mIRC will load.

Step 2
Go to File->Options->Connect, and choose EFNet from the IRC Networks list, and your preferable IRC server from the Servers List.

Step 3
Write your name in the Full Name field, your E-Mail in the Email Address field, your preferable Nickname in the Nickname field, and an alternative Nickname, in case the one you're chosen is already captured. When you're done, press OK.

Step 4
Press the Connect button.
Step 5
When you have connected to the server, type /join #emutalk, and press Enter.

There you go, you have reached the Official Support Channel of Emutalk.net . Be nice, and ask your questions politely, and you will be answered quickly. If you have already posted the question on Emutalk.net, please provide a link to the thread, and your nick on the board.
Note :
You must also follow the rules of Emutalk.net when you join #emutalk. That means no ROM requests, no profanities, no spamming, and no disrespect for the Mods, Authors, or other users in the channel. If you break those rules, you will not be welcomed in the channel.
