Chankast downgrade

I doubt "crappy" video cards work at all. if its like a typical 8meg sis chip, theres no chance in hell. I doubt even a 32 meg or possibly even 64 would work(do they even make those?).

You'll need a fairly decent GeForce/Radeon for Chankast. Chipsets such as some SiS are inferior to the Dreamcast's own video capabilities so it's no wonder why it doesn't work.

So I guess I can't play Dreamcast games on my PS1 then?

I have the following specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.08 GHz
512 MB Ram
ATi Radeon 7500 64MB DDR AGP
Virtual Dameon Drive

these are the main specs i have for running games on chankast.... is the video card i have then still a bit slow for the emulation? or does anyone know some tweaks with this card to get chankast to run faster?

i ordered the 9600SE 128 MB from newegg.com... will that get chankast to run at full speed? thanks!

The 9600 SE believe it or not is not terribly faster than what you already have, since the SE comes with just 64-Bit RAM whereas your card has 128-Bit RAM, so your card has double the bandwidth. That said, the SE does have a more favourable configuration of Pixel pipelines and has DirectX 9 features. You may notice a minute speed increase.
