Does the window automatically scale to DC aspect ratios? Because if it doesn't, the resize will just skew the picture.

Any game that runs in vga mode will be 640*480 which is 4:3, like 95% of monitors, 1024*768 is 4:3 which is probably the mosty popular res (Although I'm sure some of you guys run at much higher).

new version of chankast

just three questions! will the next version of the chankast have a improvement on the speed, grafic problems (like tranparency), and compatibility? thanks for the great work!

Ok, so at 1280x1024, the image will be stretched? Wonderful. If the creators could add "black bordering" to compensate for different ratios, as SNES emulators do, I'm sure everyone would be grateful...

who said that ??? it's only a full screen implement for the moment... and not fantasy screen modes.

be patient, remenber thats this project only start

and i agree with you guys its the most impressive work since a long time... i mean... since RCP released his Ultra64Emu

I dont think that you guys will be able to run at higher resolutions very well. I am just glad to have it play DC games. These improvements are great though.

1280x1024 (5:4) is a nonstandard ratio and most new video cards support 1280x960 either instead or in addition. so just don't use that 5:4 resolution, it's the only one like that..

Should run just fine actually. My wrappers take the existing version of chankast and alter the window's properties to remove the window borders and stretch the image to full screen. There is 0 effect on the framerate because video cards are very good at doing hardware accelerated scaling. My guess is the dev team is using a percentage ratio to scale things up meaning any resolution should work just fine (unless they hard-code the fullscreen mode to run at only one resolution). If anything, true fullscreen chankast should run faster as fullscreen mode doesn't bother to render the desktop.
